Scott Kruse, DVM

Dr. Kruse, co-owner of Village Veterinary Practice, received his Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University. Dr. Kruse then went on to attend the University of Illinois where he received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. Dr. Kruseís professional areas of interest include soft tissue surgery, oncology and health management for senior patients.


When Dr. Kruse is not providing care to his clients and patients, he can be found spending time with his family, adding to his music collection or coaching his childrenís sports teams. The Kruse family also enjoys spending time with their Cavalier Poodle Mix (a.k.a Cavipoo) Ė Norman.


Holly Hayna, DVM

After years of practicing veterinary medicine in various states throughout the country, Dr. Hayna decided to return to her Hinsdale roots and joined the VVP team in 2008.  Dr. Hayna attended the University of Illinois, receiving her Bachelorís degree then her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1998.  While well versed in all areas of veterinary medicine, Dr. Hayna has special interests in internal medicine, animal behavior and ophthalmology. 


Outside of the hospital, Dr. Hayna can be found spending time with her family, reading and enjoying Illini football!  The Hayna family shares their home with a loving Golden Retriever named Telluride (a.k.a. Telly) and a Pekingese mix named Newt.           


Joe Gibbs, DVM

Dr. Gibbs joined the VVP staff team in 2011.  He received his  undergraduate  degree in  biology  from  Kansas University then received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Veterinary Medical School at Kansas State University 2002.  Dr. Gibbs holds professional interest in internal medicine, particularly endocrinology and feline diabetes, and ophthalmology.  


When Dr. Gibbs is away from work, he enjoys spending time with family, playing ball with his Pitbull Tobin, camping and KU basketball.

Jon Jorgensen, DVM

Co-owner of Village Veterinary Practice, Dr. Jorgensen received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from theUniversity of Illinois then continued his education in Champaign-Urbana and attended the College of Veterinary Medicine. It was there that Dr. Jorgensen received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. Dr. Jorgensen is passionate about all of his patients, but has a particular interest in senior patient care. Additional interests and efforts are directed in helping VVP put our greenest foot forward.


During Dr. Jorgensenís spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and working on home improvement projects. He also enjoys basketball, helping to coach his kidsí teams and entomology (collecting bugs). Dr. Jorgensenís family currently has a Toy Poodle Ė Rosie, and Sox the cat.


John Green, DVM

Dr. Green is also a proud graduate of the University of Illinois. Dr. Green first received his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences in 2002 followed by his Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2004. In 2006, he received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and joined the VVP veterinary team.  Dr. Green holds special interests in dentistry, soft tissue surgery, radiology and senior patient care.


During Dr. Greenís time away from VVP, he enjoys spending time with his family, recreational road bicycling and motorcycle touring.  The Green family also includes Scooch, a very lively Miniature Schnauzer.

Karen Heger, DVM

Dr. Heger is a second generation veterinarian, having grown up next to her fatherís practice in St. Charles. She received her B.A. in Biology and Spanish from Cornell College and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1985 from the University of Illinois. She is an experienced small animal practitioner with a particular interest in behavior and feline medicine.


For recreation, she enjoys cooking, gardening and yoga. She particularly enjoys being harassed by her two feline scamps, Gilbert and Sullivan.
